We are currently seeking an Associate Financial Advisor who is familiar with the financial planning and investment management process and is dedicated to helping take our company to the next level.  This position requires a goal-oriented, self-motivated, and professional person. All candidates should desire a career as a client-facing financial advisor, be committed to helping others, and exhibit the ability to build relationships with clients and the team.

Position Overview

The Associate Financial Advisor is an integral part of the team serving as the connection between clients, support team, and experienced advisors. They provide technical financial planning and investment management work under the direction of more experienced financial advisors. They provide support in delivering an exceptional client experience while obtaining the proper licensing and experience needed to work directly with clients. Depending on prior career experience and education, it can take 12 months to three years until an Associate Advisor is able to manage client relationships on their own.

General Responsibilities:

  • Attending client and prospect meetings with the role of identifying any follow-up tasks required to be performed by the client, advisor, or client service team after the meeting.
  • Participate in the client sales and service processes to ensure clients and/or prospects feel they are receiving the best financial advice.
  • Update and review client information in various internal and external databases for completeness and accuracy. Frequent information audits across the client base are required, and the associate is often the front-line advisor on these audits.
  • Learn to present information to clients in meetings at the direction of a Lead Advisor.
  • Enter data and perform analysis using technical financial planning tools. This can include cash flow planning, tax planning, investment allocation, insurance policy review, estate planning, and more.
  • Master the technical requirements of financial advice, primarily through the education courses that lead to passing the Certified Financial Planner exam and obtaining that certification. 

Experience & Education:

  • A bachelor’s degree is required, and you must have the intention of pursuing the CFP designation. 
  • Graduate of a CFP registered university, and/or certificate program is a benefit.
  • You must be able to pass the series 65 exam. 
  • Prior professional work experience required, experience within the financial services industry a plus.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening)
  • Proficient in general office technology, like Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.
  • Proficient in financial planning and portfolio management software a plus.
  • Demonstrated personal integrity, honesty, and ability to deal with confidential information daily. Any deviance from honesty and confidentiality is an immediate disqualification.
  • Ability to deal with stress, self-awareness, and emotional control.
  • Excellent time management and strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks and anticipate potential problems.
